It is a rare child that does NOT enjoy music.  Most are wired to move and groove to all types of tunes.  You've probably also heard that music is a great educational tool for kids as well, but did you know that music is learned in the same way language is learned?

Music Moves is a place that will educate your whole child using developmentally appropriate, musically engaging and purposeful activities.  Instruction is carefully crafted based on research and internationally recognized programs.  Additionally, instructors are experienced, have college music education degrees and lead classes with energy and professionalism.

  • I am pleased to offer grkids.com users the amazing chance to win (1) FREE Music Together class (birth - age 5 with an adult).  This 9-week winter semester for mixed ages class meets weekly for 45-minutes and is worth $165!

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through kindergarten—and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages in one class. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own developmental level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, observing, or exploring musical instruments.

To enter this contest, please leave a comment answering the following:
Why would you like to take this class with your child(ren)?
  • Here's the link for the Music Moves Website to find out schedule options and more about the program.  Click here to view a video about the Music Moves program.A winner will be selected on January 11.  Classes start the week of January 18.  Please only enter the contest if you can commit to attending a Music Moves class with your child.

I looked into this class late this summer to do with my youngest as he loves music and be-bopping around to it! Due to a medical issue I didn't sign him up as I knew it would interfere with us being able to attend for awhile. I think this would be great for us as he was recently evaluated with a speech delay and I think this would be an awesome experience for him to practice the therapy we will be starting!

Oh - this sounds awesome! My youngest - 2 year old loves singing & music and I would love to share this 1:1 time with him. He prefers singing over talking - and this would be a great opprotunity to expand his social & speech skills with other kids! Hopes whoever wins enjoys it! ☺

Well, this one is sort of a "no brainer" for me. Being a musician, I would love to share this in a class setting with my son as well as what we already do at home. Plus, it would be great for his social exposure as well.

These classes are AMAZING! I did it with my first son when he was little. (Emery). He LOVED this class. Now we have another child that loves music even more than our first. I would love to share the experience with my boys.

I have a 2 year old with a Verbal Dyspraxia and music is a great way to get him communicating. He loves music and tries his best to sing, it would be great to have an environment that was filled with music and other children his age!

Music is a part of our daily lives and we would love to give our daughter, Avery, even more of it and see where it takes us. Every day she shows more interest in playing her toy piano, dancing to the music on the radio or just singing a new song.

I think my daughter would love this class. I have not found opportunities in our area that are parent/child interactive. The dance programs in our area are all recital based. I am more interested in the learning process than I am in how my daughter performs.

These classes are amazing and Teacher Jennifer is fantastic. My daughter has been musical since before she was born, I first noticed how she was calmed by music before she was born and as a newborn infant. I have enrolled her in these classes and they are perfect for non-musical parents like myself and my husband! You also get two CDs of the class music to listen to at home, in the car, at daycare, etc., so the songs really become a part of the child's life! Now, at eighteen months old, although she can't say the right words, she uses sign language to ask for music when she wants to have some on in the background while she is playing! I credit the classes with her continuing love of music!

My son (4) is incredibly active and my daughter (1 and 1/2), as the baby of the family, is resigned to following him around and watching him participate in his various classes and activities--dance, gymnastics, etc. This music class would be something that I could do with my daughter alone while my son is in school. It would be an activity that I know she would love, and I would adore having one activity that is "just for the girls".

My son loved to move to music when I was pregnant with him. He has just started to dance around when he hears any beat...it is very cute! I think he'd really enjoy this class and socializing with the other children. And I would like to get out of the house for a little bit each week. What a great way to spend quality time with your child!

My 3 year old granddaughter twins love to dance and listen to music. They are not in preschool or any organize activities. Their dad is unemployed and their mother stays at home with them and they also have a seven year old in first grade. Both parents would love to have them in your class but cannot afford it. I would be willing to match by paying for one of the twins and the other win the contest. They live in Cascade so it would be close to their home. Thank you for this offer and it would be very appreciated.

My 2 year old loves music and dancing. I think taking a class would be a wonderful way to quality time together and with others. He struggles with confidence and I think this class would definitely help him with that. We haven't been able to afford taking this class although we've been interested him and would love the opportunity!

My daughter LOVES to sing and dance. I been trying to find classes that I can pay for. However, with us being a 1 income family we have to cut back. It would just be a nice treat for my daughter and I. It would help keep me active and maybe teach me a few things.

I am 39 yrs old and never thought I would be able to have children. After finally giving up a couple of years ago I miraculously became pregnant. I spend everyday with my beautiful daughter trying to teach her. We dance, play, watch "Your baby can read" videos together and try to understand each others words. She loves to dance and sing. Isabella makes me laugh everyday and I would love to do something with her to continue that laughter and happiness. She is 9 months old and I think it would help strengthen a special bond we already have.

I have always wanted to check out one of these classes! When we lived in Lowell, the school offered something similar, but for a wonderful low cost of $1 per class [really!] My two oldest kiddos loved it!! I feel like my youngest is getting a little gypped...she's done nothing of the sort - this could be a great opportunity for some one on one fun!! :)

My wonderful little 15 month old boy is the light of my life and I want to help him experience all that is beautiful in this world. He is an only child and I would love to expose him to live music with other children from whom he can watch and learn. I think this would be a great opportunity to enjoy some extra special bonding time.

I have a two year old daughter that would love to attend this class! I just had a baby 6 weeks ago and this would be a wonderful place to have a mother daughter time without the new baby! She loves to sing and dance and I think this music class would be something special to look forward to. Like a lot of stay at home moms it's hard to find the extra funds in the budget take a $165 music class when there is so many other things that need attention, I think that this would be a treat !
